The Leberl winery has been run by the same family for generations and cultivates vines over 22 hectares in the best locations in the Burgenland.
Anneliese and Josef, “the older generation”, cultivate the vineyards taking care of the environment and with a lot of manual work. Their son Gerald was the cellar master of Leberl winery from 1997 to April 2012. His intention was to produce wines with elegance and a great deal of potential. Unfortunately Gerald is no longer with us due to a tragic accident in April 2012. His brother Alexander (he learned all about wine making from Gerald) now looks after the cellar. Senior Josef assists in an advisory capacity based on his many years of experience.
Several different soils in various locations provide a large selection of varieties. White wines such as Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Seedling as well as red wines such as Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon find optimal conditions.
"We produce elegant wines with structure and a great deal of potential. The characteristics of our origins are reflected in our wines.”
