Neuer President
CHANGE AT THE TOP OF THE RENOWNED WINERIES OF BURGENLAND
Andi Kollwentz becomes President of the Renowned Wineries of Burgenland.
After nine years as President of the Renowned Wineries of Burgenland, Kurt Feiler is stepping down and taking a step back.
Andi Kollwentz is now taking over as President. He was unanimously elected at the general meeting in mid-March, 2026.
“As the new President of the Renowned Wineries of Burgenland, I am taking over from Kurt Feiler and will lead the association in his spirit and on behalf of the Renowned Wineries of Burgenland,” said Andi Kollwentz.
Andi’s father, red wine pioneer Anton Kollwentz, who sadly passed away on March 4, was a co-founder and the first President of the Renowned Wineries of Burgenland. Thirty years later, Andi now succeeds him as President.
Andi Kollwentz is the 11th generation to manage the traditional winery in Großhöflein. In 1993, he took over the cellar management. Since 2004, he has run the winery together with his wife, Heidi. With their daughters Christina, Eva Maria, and Barbara, the 12th generation is already involved. Andi Kollwentz is considered the all-rounder among Austrian winemakers, as he excels in a wide range of disciplines and is among the top producers in every category, whether white, red, or sweet.
The Renowned Wineries of Burgenland comprise winemakers who forge their own path through innovative thinking and forward planning. These pioneering wineries are ambassadors of Burgenland viticulture – committed to their heritage, with a clear dedication to sustainable viticulture, diversity, craftsmanship, and individuality. The winemakers’ association has significantly shaped local winemaking; they are, in a sense, the essence of Burgenland’s diversity. Since their founding in 1995, they have dedicated themselves to exchanging ideas, researching sustainable viticulture and winemaking practices, and, in particular, enhancing the reputation and standing of Burgenland wine both domestically and internationally.
“The Renowned Wineries of Burgenland have been and remain a constant in Burgenland viticulture. The core principles and objectives of the winemakers’ group have remained unchanged. We intend to continue on this path,” says the newly elected President, Andi Kollwentz.
